Dr. Willis provides specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents up to age 18.
We provide thoughtful evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care in a setting designed to feel professional, welcoming, and supportive from the very first visit.
Psychiatric services designed around each patient’s needs
Every child and teen is different. Our services are designed to provide clarity, support, and a treatment plan tailored to the individual.
Comprehensive Evaluation
A detailed first visit focused on understanding symptoms, history, development, and the factors affecting emotional and behavioral health.
Medication Management
Ongoing psychiatric care that monitors progress, evaluates response to treatment, and adjusts medication when appropriate.
Follow-Up Visits
Continued support through structured visits that help ensure treatment remains effective, practical, and appropriate over time.
Family-Centered Care
Guidance that takes family concerns seriously and helps caregivers understand next steps, treatment options, and long-term support.
Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation (~75 minutes)
On the first visit, patients can plan to receive a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation lasting ~75 minutes. With information obtained from Dr. Willis’ review of intake paperwork and direct communication with patient and the guardian. In addition to a thorough analysis of the patient’s “chief complaint” (or principal problem), patients will be screened for other common psychiatric disorders.
Psychiatrists are medical doctors and must consider the overall health of their patients. As such, Dr. Willis will review the patient’s general medical history and will consider possible physical illnesses which could be contributing to psychiatric symptoms.
In addition, there will be a thorough review of psychosocial factors, including developmental details. This information helps Dr. Willis to get to know the patient as a person and helps him formulate the diagnostic impression and develop an individualized treatment plan to address all the core issues. Whether the issues be those that require the use of medications, or those that may not be effectively treated with medications, but rather behavioral therapy or other psychotherapy approaches.
Medication Management
Medication management visits focus on how a patient is doing over time, including symptom improvement, side effects, changes in functioning, and overall treatment response.
These appointments help ensure that treatment remains thoughtful, safe, and tailored to the child or adolescent’s current needs.
Follow-Up Appointments
Follow-up visits provide ongoing guidance, monitoring, and treatment adjustments as needed. These visits help maintain continuity of care and support long-term progress.
Families have the opportunity to discuss concerns, ask questions, and stay informed throughout the treatment process.
